Notes Blog Public Beta
Friends, below is the public beta version of the brand new Notes Blog theme. It will be on wordpress.org when it is time for the final 1.0 release, but if you can’t wait then by all means try the beta. It is under these conditions that I’m releasing it, so pay attention! If you download [...]
If you’re running any of the beta versions of Notes Blog Core, you should be just fine upgrading to the final 1.0 release. Child themes built on the beta versions should work perfectly, as long as you change the template reference to notes-blog-core-theme (it’s a wordpress.org thing). A number of bugs have been squashed since the betas, so there’s no reason not upgrading. Also, since 1.0 is hosted on wordpress.org, you’ll get automatic upgrade from within the WordPress admin.
Getting Ready for Core 1.0
I have all but feature frozen the final 1.0 release of Notes Blog Core (still available in 1.0 beta by the way). There are some things I’ll change for the final 1.0 version, and a couple of bugs reported that will be squashed before I send this baby to the official theme directory.
The second public beta of Notes Blog Core is out now, as you probably know already. So far there hasn’t been any serious bugs reported, which means that a final 1.0 release might not be very far away. If you’ve found a bug in 1.0 beta 2, please report it here!

The second, and possibly last, public beta of Notes Blog Core is out, and you can get it at the bottom of this post. First, however, some notes on what has changed: A bunch of bugs have been squashed. There is now pullquote support, along with a shortcode. Comments and pings are now separated. Some [...]
Just a quick note to tell you all that I’ll be releasing an updated public beta (most likely the last one) of Notes Blog Core tomorrow, Monday 22nd Tuesday or Wednesday (delay due to too much work, sorry!). Thanks for all the reports and thoughts on the first beta so far!
Notes Blog Core 1.0 Wishlist
With the Notes Blog Core theme in public beta right now, I thought I’d get the wishlist thing rolling. What do you want and how do you want it? I’ll get us started, these are things that are on my radar right now. Support for Pages widget in the Submenu widget area. Built-in support for [...]
Announcing the Public Notes Blog Core 1.0 Beta!
Attention! There’s a newer beta version here! It is about time, isn’t it? Here’s the Notes Blog Core 1.0 public beta for you to play with, all for free and all fine to fiddle with in just about any way you’d like. The beta is beta software so it might misbehave or be just plain [...]
Notesblog.com Updated to Core 1.0-beta1.2
We’re now running Notes Blog Core 1.0-beta1.2 here on notesblog.com. It looks a bit different, mainly because there is no built-in support for asides per default. There will be an upgraded child theme that adds some bling to the basic core theme. Look for the public 1.0 beta in just a little while!
