I’m pleased to announce that version 1.0.2 of Notes Blog Core is available from the wordpress.org themes directory. You can also update it from within your WordPress install if you’re running it already, or install it that way. Just click Themes and take it from there.
Core 1.0.2 is a bugfix release, so it is not crucial in any way. A few minor bugs have been squashed and the theme now ships with most (albeit not all) translations. A few additions have also been made to the localization features, so not all translations are complete anymore, although I hope they will be in the near future.
So what’s next? Well, the roadmap still stands, and I’m pleased to say that I’ve started working on version 1.1. I’m also already running the theme on the WordPress 3.0 beta without any problems, so I’m not expecting any issues there.
Most urgent is actually moving this site to a new host. The current one really isn’t performing as it should, and since I want to pick up the pace here that is not something I want overhead. This should be resolved in the coming weeks.
But for now, be sure to update your Core theme to 1.0.2, and if you want to learn how to do even cooler things with Core, be sure to pick up my book.
Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog is now available in its second edition. The book is revised and updated, sporting even more Notes Blog galore, all in full color.
My latest book is called Smashing WordPress Themes: Making WordPress Beautiful and is all about theming. The book is available now from your favorite online retailer (or physical bookstore).
