Ladies and gentlemen, it is about time I talk a bit more about what’s going on with the Notes concept. Yes, that’s right, it’s just “Notes” now, for reasons which I’m sure will be obvious in the coming weeks. And yes, it’s weeks now, not months…
The Notes concept consists of three major theme tracks, and a separate plugin track.
Let’s start with the themes since that’s what most people use. This is what you can expect from me, under the Notes brand, the coming months:
- Notes Blog is a blog theme first and foremost. Easy to build upon, to child theme, or to use as is.
- Notes Mag is an online magazine theme. You know the kind.
- I’m not talking about the third theme track just yet.
Notes Blog is in closed beta right now. A release is imminent. As for Notes Mag, it is a bit further away, but not by much. I’ll commit to a 2010 release there. The third theme will probably not make it out this year. When you see it you’ll probably understand why…
So what does this mean for Notes Blog Core Theme? Well, the theme will be upgraded and treated as a sandbox theme for you to build stuff upon. It will see some improvement but be kept at a bare minimum. An update there is imminent as well.
Moving on. Plugins. We’ve got some cool stuff lined up, some already released, that’ll help you make better websites powered by WordPress. We’ll complete this part of the Notes concept with nice snippets for your perusal, since not everything we do is suitable for release as a plugin.
And obviously everything is free and GPL.
Expect things to happen here soon. Thanks for your continued support.
