I have decided to postpone the beta version of the Notes Blog Core theme. As you might know already, it is running on some blogs and is working perfectly. However, I’ve got some ideas to make it even more flexible and easy to create smashing add-on themes for, and I want to give these a chance before I deliver the Core theme.
Anyway, I’m sorry for the delay, everyone! However, I really want the Core theme to be a great foundation for both theme developers and by itself. The sad part is that this means I won’t be able to release anything until mid-January at the earliest, due to traveling and other obligations. In other words, be sure to subscribe to updates so that you won’t miss anything.
Have a great Holidays, everyone! I’ll see you in 2009!

Too bad. I just planned to have a redesign using this theme
Look forward to your development process.
But beware of feature creep. Better something bare bones child themes can build on than something so feature heavy it gets stuck in the mud, to use a simile.
I liked how you put asides on the main page. Simple web 2.0 looking theme. Really waiting for it to start my notes blog.
aw Man, this is an awesome theme, and perfect for what I need.. do you have any idea (roughly) when/if this theme will definatley be released? its by far one of the best I’ve come across so far for what I need.
Excellent Work!

I hear ya. and yea, that makes sense.. something to look forward too then:)… the theme rocks..
Thanks Daniel…

Thanks. Yeah, it really is too bad, but better to get it right from the start (should the alternate version be better) than to mess with the core later on.
It is not so much a matter of adding features, as to get the theme to a place where it is easy to make child themes for. I would hate to realize I did something really stupid in the Core theme after the 1.0 launch.
Thanks! I’m putting it to good use on some of my other blogs as well, a pretty nice way to mix the content if you ask me. Naturally, it is entirely optional.
Thanks Martin.
I’d rather not commit to a specific time right now, but first half of February seems likely.
